There She Goes!

Checking her luggage
Well, she's off! We had Sister Lybbert at the airport at 4:30 a.m. this morning (I don't think I've ever driven at that  time of day.) Mekaiah & Brandon and Samara & Scott all met us at the airport to say good bye. We sat visiting the Noads, who were sending their oldest son off at the same time. At least Sis. Lybbert will have someone she knows on all her flights. Brother Bill Alston gave her a challenge last night before she was set apart, to try to have Elder Noad have a conversation with her for more than two minutes. He doesn't think that Elder Noad has ever talked to a girl that long! She accepted. They will meet up with a couple other missionaries from Southern Alberta, and then a few more in Chicago (from here too) all headed for the MTC (for those who are reading  this and wonder why we send all our missionaries to the Empty Sea, it's really the Missionary Training Center) in Preston, England. In accordance with the promises I made to my other children, I will not post any pictures of them as we said goodbye (they made me promise not to make them public considering the hour they were taken), but Sister Lybbert gave no statement, verbal, written or implied, that we couldn't post her pictures. I was taking pictures of her as she went through the metal scanner and was actually threatened by the Security Guard that he would confiscate my camera if I did so. I looked around and wanted to point out that there were no signs saying I couldn't take pictures of her, but thought it best not to argue, and deleted the picture. I didn't tell him that I had already taken one as she checked her luggage in through earlier. He was there the whole time. Thank you to everyone who has helped her get to where she is.  Thank you for your love, support and prayers. Now, hopefully, the rest of this blog will be what she has written.
